§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proportion of those applying for parole in the last year for which figures are available obtained it; if he will break this figure down as follows: the proportion of those applying for parole for (a) the first time, (b) the second time and (c) the third or subsequent time who obtained it; and how these figures compare with those for the previous five years.
§ Mr. HurdSeparate information on those considered and recommended for parole at(a) first review and (b) second or subsequent review is published annually in the report of the Parole Board (table 1 of appendix 4 of the 397W issue for 1983 and table 1 of appendix 3 of the issue for 1982). Separate information for second reviews and for third or subsequent reviews could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
