§ Mr. David MitchellThe Department's consultative document on "Proposals for legislation on ship registration and other matters", which included proposals for extending the retaliatory powers under section 14 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1974 to include passenger vessels, was issued on 9 March. Comments were invited on these proposals from all interested parties and the comments that have been received have been fully considered.
