asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the Inland Revenue does not accept agreed monthly tax payments by standing order.

§ Mr. Lawson
Where a satisfactory arrangement has been negotiated and the taxpayer requests it, agreed monthly payments by standing order are acceptable to the Inland Revenue.
If the right hon. Member has a particular case in mind and would care to write to me, I will look into the position.
