§ 29. Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the rules concerning the filming by journalists of persons accused of criminal offences.
§ Mr. HurdIt is for chief officers of police to decide whether to grant journalists such facilities. I am satisfied that chief officers are aware of the need to have regard to the privacy of persons suspected of crime, the consent of the persons concerned to be filmed and to the interests of justice, before granting any such facility.
