§ Mr. Gareth Wardellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now set up an inquiry into allegations from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals that young calves and other farm animals are being cruelly treated and handled while in transit from the United Kingdom to Europe.
§ Mrs. FennerThe Department is already looking into a report provided recently by the society concerning an individual consignment of calves exported to France. However, the RSPCA report does not include allegations that the animals were cruelly treated and handled in transit.
