§ 62. Mr. John Browneasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy towards the 111W development of schemes for providing short-term work experience in industry as a part of the educational curriculum for pupils in the immediate post-GCE O-level phase.
§ Sir Keith JosephThe Government have repeatedly stressed the importance of the different forms of education/industry liaison, including work experience, and a number of recent Government initiatives make particular provision for this. However, work experience schemes are essentially part of the curriculum and as such are the responsibility of the local education authorities and the educational institutions themselves.
