Mr. Hargreaves

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what was the total number of full-time equivalents employed in the districts now known as the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble valley district health authority and Tameside and Glossop district health authority in the following categories: (a) nurses/midwives, (b) professional/technical ancillary, (c) administrative/ clerical and (d) maintenance in 1979 and 1983, respectively; and what was the ratio of these to the population;

(2) what was the total number of full-time equivalents employed in the North-West regional health authority in the following categories: nurses/midwives, professional/ technical, ancillary, administrative/clerical and maintenance, in 1979 and 1983, respectively; and what was the ratio of these to the population.
