Member for Brent, East on 5 July, Official Report, column 227, what was the nature of the offence under the Official Secrets Act 1911 for which Mr. Bill Bush was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London on 26 June.
§ Mr. BrittanMr. Bush was arrested on suspicion of handling a stolen document which was subject to the Official Secrets Act 1911. He was released without being charged. As my right hon. Friend the Minister of State indicated in his reply to the right hon. Member on 5 July at column277, a report will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. It will be for him to decide whether charges should be brought.
