asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the most recent figures available for (a)

Information of this type was not kept in 1968. However statistics for the years 1969 to 1983 are in the following table. Statistics for the first six months of 1984 are expected to be published shortly.

Scotland and (b) the Ayrshire and Arran health board area for the number of patients receiving post-operative treatment from National Health Service facilities after private operations.
