HL Deb 10 July 1984 vol 454 c878WA
Lord John-Mackie

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many hectares of conifers in the following categories the Forestry Commission have sold and what was the average price per hectare for each category: (1) trees less than 15 years old; (2) trees from 15 to 30 years old and (3) trees over 30 years old.

The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Gray of Contin)

Most woodlands sold by the Forestry Commission contain trees of varying ages while some have conifers and broadleaves in mixture. In addition many sales include not only trees but also farm land and other assets for which a single price is paid. It is therefore not possible to provide information in the form requested.
