HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c29W
Mr. Gregory

asked the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to the answer of 24 January, Official Report, c. 491, what information he has available on the salaries paid to those employed in the schools career advisory service.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Most careers service staff are paid on the salary scales as set out in the scheme of conditions of service as agreed by the national joint council for local authorities, administrative, professional, technical and clerical services.

Mr. Gregory

asked the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to the answer of 24 January, Official Report, c. 491, if he will give separate figures for the number of those employed solely on giving careers guidance in schools.

Mr. Peter Morrison

No separate figures are available, but I understand that the great majority of careers officers who give guidance in schools are also engaged in employment work.
