asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many Civil Service posts have been transferred to Merseyside since May 1979.

Mr. Hayhoe

The dispersal programme anounced on 26 July 1979 included 1,250 posts to be transferred to Merseyside; to date 631 of these have already gone. Details of other posts which may have been transferred by Departments for management reasons are not held centrally.
