Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contributions the United Kingdom has made under the "pound for pound" scheme during each year since its inception; and what contributions he expects or intends to make under that scheme during 1984.

[pursuant to the reply, 19 January 1984, c. 302]: The following contributions have been made under the "pound for pound" Scheme since its inception in 1975:

1979–80 1,665,000
1980–81 1,539,000
1981–82 2,259,000
1982–83 2,360,000

In 1983–84 we expect to spend some £2,390,000. I hope to be able to announce shortly the amount of money we shall be making available in 1984–85.
