Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what recent discussions he has had with credit card companies regarding their liability to holidaymakers under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

None, but the Civil Aviation Authority has discussed the matter with the credit card companies and travel trade and hopes that a satisfactory arrangement will soon be reached.
