HC Deb 24 January 1984 vol 52 cc490-1W
Mr. Alan Howarth

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether any changes will be made to his Department's cash limits.

Mr. Peter Morrison

Subject to Parliamentary approval of the necessary supplementary estimate, the cash limit for Class IV Vote 13 will be increased by £25 million from £494,281,000 to £519,281,000. There will be no addition to the planning total of public expenditure since a corresponding reduction will be made in the cash limit for Class IV Vote 16 relative to the Manpower Services Commission which will be reduced from £1,208,755,000 to £1,183,755,000. The Commission's grant in aid now becomes £1,396,134,000. The increase on Vote 13 is required for the community programme so that 130,000 places may be filled by the spring.
