§ Mr. MellorInformation by age groups is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales". For persons found guilty of or cautioned for indictable offences, there were, per 100,000 population, increases of 16 per cent. between 1979 and 1982 for juveniles aged 16, and of 15 per cent. for persons aged 17 and under 21. Figures for 1983 are not yet available.
