§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the incident involving the aeroplane carrying Lord Trefgarne to the Falklands which caused it to make an unscheduled landing in Senegal.
§ Mr. LeeThe RAF VC10 carrying my noble Friend on the first stage of his journey to the Falkland Islands made a scheduled refuelling stop at Dakar on 6 January. Shortly after take-off the aircraft suffered a bird strike and returned to the airport so that the damage could be assessed. As repairs were necessary, the next VC10 flight was brought forward to fly out spares and take my noble Friend's party on to Ascension Island.
