asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many customs posts have been removed on the British side of the frontier between Northern Ireland and the Republic since 1969; how many of these have been removed completely; and how many have been moved further inside Northern Ireland.

Sixteen posts have been removed since 1969; 15 of these have been removed completely; one has been moved further inside Northern Ireland.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what are his future plans for the construction of customs check points along the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

There are no such plans.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the controlled customs posts on roads linking Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

Customs staff are accommodated in 11 concentrations on roads linking Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. These are at Armagh, Aughnacloy, Belcoo, Belleek, Enniskillen, Londonderry, Mullan, Mullenan, Newry, Newton Butler and Strabane.
