asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress he is making with his inquiry into the case of a seven-year-old physically and mentally handicapped Liverpool girl who was sexually assaulted while in the care of a foster parent.

We have received a report from the director of social services for Liverpool which we are considering. I shall write to the hon. Member when our consideration is complete.
