§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the capacity of the steel industry agreed to date and the capacity which the EEC has proposed compared to actual capacity in 1970; and if he will provide similar figures for other EEC countries.
§ Mr. ButcherThe Commission decisions of 29 June 1983 about reductions in capacity to be made between 1980 and 1985 were expressed in terms of capacity to produce hot rolled products. Comparable figures for 1970 are not available, but production potential in terms of crude steel is available for 1970.
