asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in the Official Report the number of section 714 certificates issued yearly since 1979.

The total number of 714 certificates issued to subcontractors in the construction industry each year since 1979 is as follows:

1983 205,200

In the current year 148,500 certificates had been issued up to 3 February 1984.
