Notes

1. All figures are derived from the annual accounts submitted to the Department by health authorities.

2. The percentages are based on a comparison with total current expenditure on all services except payments made to contractors providing family practitioner services. For England totals, the expenses of the Dental Estimates Board and Prescription Pricing Authority have been excluded.

3. 'Boards of Governors etc.', which are included for completeness, are those Boards or successor Special Health Authorities responsible for the administration of certain London post-graduate teaching hospitals.
