§ Mrs. ChalkerThe contract for bearing plinth replacements is due for completion at the end of March, but it seems likely that the contractor will overrun this by several weeks. The final cost will depend on the engineer's decision concerning any claims the contractor may submit. My Department has been advised that the contract sum is likely to increase from the tender sum of £509,793 to £790,232 due to an increase in the amount of cold weather working.
