§ Mr. WaldegraveMy Department's research programme covers all aspects of the acid deposition problem. It includes work on the physical and chemical processes in the atmosphere that lead to acid deposition and work on the effects on fish and freshwater biota, forests, crops, soils, materials and buildings. Most projects are planned to run for three years initially. There are annual and final reports on each project and research contractors are encouraged to publish the results of their work in the scientific literature.
