Mr. Gould

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will publish in the Official Report figures for public sector borrowing over the last two years together with figures showing the reduction in relative interest rates relative to United States interest rates in each period and the corresponding expansion of domestic credit.

Figures for the public sector borrowing requirement are published inFinancial Statistics, table 2.5. The following table gives average three-month interbank rates in the United Kingdom and three-month certificate of deposit rates in the United States along with average 10-year United Kingdom gilt yields and 10-year fixed maturity United States Treasury bond yields:
