HC Deb 23 February 1984 vol 54 c610W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action he is taking, in view of the findings of the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys survey "Smoking among Secondary Schoolchildren", published 14 September 1983, to increase the quantity and effectiveness of health education in schools about smoking and its health hazards; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dunn

Schools are already well aware of their role in this field, and the great majority of secondary schools and a number of primary schools provide education about smoking and health. The Government are considering what further action might be taken in the light of the recent OPCS survey.
