HC Deb 23 February 1984 vol 54 c632W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in view of recent reductions in the service provided in certain areas, including Greenwich, Gateshead and Waltham Forest, for cervical cancer screening, if he is satisfied that all those who need to be tested can be given these tests; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

The hon. Member will be pleased to learn that the health authorities he mentions have already taken steps to overcome temporary problems in processing routine cervical smears. This action should ensure that women who need tests will be able to have them.
