Mr. Proctor

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which local education authorities have put proposals forward to him in the last 12 months for introducing an element of selection in their secondary schools; what form it is proposed that their selection should take; and if he will make a statement.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how much money in real terms was spent on state secondary schools in Leicestershire in 1970, 1974, 1979 and 1983.
