HC Deb 20 February 1984 vol 54 cc375-6W
Mr. Alton

asked the Prime Minister if she will list the component parts that have been pre-ordered by the Central Electricity Generating Board for the pressurised water reactor project; where they have been manufactured; and what is their individual cost.

The Prime Minister

I am advised by the CEGB that no components have yet been ordered by it for Sizewell B. The board expects shortly to order, from Framatome, in France, forging materials for the reactor pressure vessel at a cost of about £3 million. Later in the year the CEGB expects orders for other long lead reactor components to be placed at a cost of up to £9 million. No decisions have been taken on where these orders will be placed.
