Mr. Sean Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether the figure of £90,000 given in the answer of 31 January, Official Report, c. 187, as the cost of his return flight by Nimrod aircraft from the Falkland Islands, included the cost of the fuel-carrying aircraft involved.

Mr. Stanley

It included the direct operating cost of the tanker aircraft that refuelled the Nimrod, but not the costs of indirect and reserve tanker support.
