HC Deb 16 February 1984 vol 54 c255W
Mr. Hill

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether there is any provision for the compensation of a pet shop owner whose entire stock of cage birds is slaughtered by officers of his Department to prevent the spread of Newcastle disease.

Mrs. Fenner

No compensation is payable for the slaughter of imported birds which a veterinary inspector suspects are or may be affected with disease or for the slaughter of birds which may have been in contact with such birds.
