We have received comments from all health authorities, the main national professional bodies and other representative organisations on the recommendations of the NHS management inquiry report. These include a variety of views on the need for and role of a general manager at unit level. We shall be taking these into consideration before reaching decisions about how to carry forward the report's recommendations.
