asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many secondary schools in Northern Ireland employ a trained professional librarian; and what percentage this represents of all secondary schools.

The information is not held centrally, but the school authorities of the 261 secondary schools indicate that four, or 1.53 per cent., employ a trained professional librarian.
