HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 c26W
Sir Raymond Gower

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many representations he has received about the freezing of grants to farmers in Wales under the agriculture and horticulture development scheme and on the compensatory allowances thereunder.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

I have personally received four representations. In addition staff in the five divisional offices in Wales received up to 81 oral inquiries about the agriculture and horticulture development scheme and 54 on the compensatory allowances. As my hon. Friend will have noted, my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food announced our decision to resume payments on 9 February.
