HC Deb 13 February 1984 vol 54 cc1-2W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will reply to the representations made to him by the Lothian regional council and the Edinburgh district council that Edinburgh should be selected as the lead city in Scotland for an experiment on combined heat and power; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Walker

Representations from the Lothian regional council and the Edinburgh district council, along with those from other interested parties, are being taken into account in the Government's consideration of the reports on combined heat and power by W. S. Atkins and Partners and the Select Committee on Energy. A statement on the outcome of these deliberations should be made shortly.
