§ Mr. Spencer
asked the Attorney-General if he will stop the practice of appointing Treasury counsel at the Central Criminal Court.
§ The Attorney-General
I am assured by the Director of Public Prosecutions that he finds the availability of a standing panel of Treasury counsel at the Central Criminal Court invaluable to the efficient and expeditious handling of the many cases he prosecutes at that court. Accordingly, I have no plans to discontinue the practice, although I have reduced the number of senior Treasury counsel.
