§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what progress is being made toward the elimination of tariff barriers between countries in the European Community.
§ Mr. ChannonThe only remaining tariff barriers between countries in the European Community are the customs duties in each direction between Greece and other member states, which are being progressively reduced under the terms of Greece's treaty of accession. These duties a re now 40 per cent. of the level prevailing before Greece joined the Community and they will be eliminated on 1 January 1986.
