HC Deb 09 February 1984 vol 53 c750W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what he expects autumn's intake of medical students to be; and what will be the trend in the next four years.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I have no reason to think that this autumn's intake to British medical schools will be markedly different from last year's. Ministers are studying the report of an advisory committee on medical manpower planning, and we shall decide in the light of that report whether adjustments are needed to the target intake.
