asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will review the regulations governing toxic waste.

The Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations 1980 are already being reviewed by a committee, which includes representatives of local authorities, waste producers, the waste disposal industry and environmental interests. The committee is expected to report later this year.
