§ Mr. Bill Walkerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what publicity he intends to give to the recently approved Civil Defence Regulations 1983 and how he intends to advise the public that civil defence volunteers are now to be encouraged to offer their services to local authorities.
§ Mr. HurdThe Civil Defence (General Local Authority Functions) Regulations 1983 were sent to local authorities under cover of an unclassified circular. New public information and revised guidance to local authorities will be issued this year. Other opportunities will be taken to inform the public of the scope for voluntary effort in civil defence.
