HC Deb 06 February 1984 vol 53 c455W
Sir Peter Mills

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food why his Department has not responded to the Milk Marketing Board's offer to put its laboratory testing arrangements at the service of the appropriate authorities in testing for certain foreign bodies in imported milk.

Mr. MacGregor

I am grateful for the board's willingness to help. My Department is already in touch with the MMB to consider if there are ways in which we could use its expertise and experience. Under the Importation of Milk Regulations 1983 responsibility for operating public health controls on import of milk has been delegated to certain Port health authorities.
