HC Deb 03 February 1984 vol 53 c391W
Mr. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many of the managing companies involved in the youth training scheme have been inspected for suitability by the Manpower Services Commission; and of those how many have been found unsatisfactory.

Mr. Peter Morrison

[pursuant to his reply, 2 February 1984, c. 284–85]: I regret that information is not available in the precise form requested. However, by 31 December 1983, which covers only the first four full months of the scheme, 4,048 individual programmes under mode A of the scheme, providing 236,133 places, had been assessed by the Manpower Services Commission. A total of 2,742, providing 146,785 places, were regarded as meeting the required standards. The Manpower Services Commission is confident that the great majority of schemes will be meeting these standards fully by the end of the first year of the scheme.
