§ Mr. Janner
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) whether he has now completed his consideration of the third report of the Select Committee on Home Affairs and in particular its recommendation concerning reduction of fees for British citizenship;
(2) how much profit he estimates was made on fees for British citizenship during 1983.
§ Mr. Waddington
The third report of the Select Committee has been receiving full and careful consideration and we shall be in a position to give a full reply in a few weeks' time. That reply will deal with the question of whether or not a profit was made on citizenship fees in 1983 and whether fees can be reduced.
