§ Q23. Mr. Lathamasked the Prime Minister what recent requests for information have been made by Her Majesty's Government to the Soviet Government regarding the current whereabouts of the Swedish diplomat Mr. Raoul Wallenberg; and what response has been received.
§ The Prime MinisterMy hon. Friend the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, asked about Mr. Wallenberg during his meeting with the Soviet First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Kornienko, in Moscow on 25 April 1983.
Mr. Kornienko refused to discuss the case, maintaining that questions of this kind amounted to interference in Soviet internal affairs.
