HC Deb 02 February 1984 vol 53 c270W
Mr. Beith

asked the Attorney-General whether he is satisfied with the standard and location of accommodation used for sittings of Newcastle Crown court at Kenton.

The Attorney-General

The buildings at Kenton Bar provide a temporary location for the Crown court in Newcastle pending the provision, which is planned, of a permanent courthouse. The temporary buildings have shortcomings which will not be found in the new courthouse, but they are adequate for their present role. Kenton Bar also is some distance from the city centre and not so well located as the new courthouse will be.
