§ Mr. Norman LamontI am pleased to report that in 1983 United Kingdom vehicle manufacturers increased their production of cars by 17.7 per cent. to 1,044,600 units, the highest annual level since 1979. It is particularly welcome that in a larger, indeed a record, United Kingdom car market domestic manufacturers were able marginally to increase their share of the domestic market.
