HC Deb 21 December 1984 vol 70 cc410-1W
Mrs. Beckett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the latest available figures for (a) the average amount of additional component received by invalidity pensioners for (i) all invalidity pensioners and (ii) each of the groups receiving one of the rates of invalidity allowance and (b) for each of the three rates of invalidity allowance, a breakdown of the amount of earnings-related component (1) up to £1, (2) £1 to £2, (3) £2 to £3, (4) £3 to £4 and (5) up to the maximum point.

Mr. Newton

The information on(a) as at 2 April 1983, the latest date for which information is available, is as follows:

IVA = Invalidity allowance.

IVB = Invalidity benefit.

I regret that a breakdown of the amount of additional component in payment is not available.

Mrs. Beckett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the latest available figures for (a) the number of invalidity pensioners receiving each of the three rates of invalidity allowance, (b) for each of these three groups the number also receiving an earnings-related additional component, (c) the total number of invalidity pensioners receiving both invalidity allowance and the additional component on top of their invalidity pension, (d) of these the number also receiving supplementary benefit, (e) the number of invalidity pensioners claiming for an adult dependant and (f) the number claiming for a child dependant.
