§ Mr. Pawseyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has about the number of houses in Rugby in urgent need of modernisation; and what funds his Department has made available in the current year for housing improvement in Rugby.
§ Sir George YoungRugby borough council provided details about the conditions of the housing stock as at 1 April 1984 in its housing investment programme return, which is available in the Library.
The district council has received an enhanced housing investment programme allocation of £5.1 million in 1984–85; this is in recognition of particular problems present in a substantial proportion of the council's housing stock. The single block system for local authority expenditure allows authorities flexibility in ordering priorities in the use of their capital allocation.
