Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the air transport and travel industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(2) if he will report, for each region and each training year 1979–80 to 1984–85, on the level of recruitment to first-year apprentice training in the carpet industry, the ceramics, glass and mineral products industry, the chemical and allied products industry, the cotton and allied textiles industry, the furniture and timber industry, the iron and steel industry, the printing and publishing industry, the rubber and plastics industry, the shipbuilding industry and the wool, jute and flax industry, respectively.

(3) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the shipbuilding industry industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(4) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the wool, jute and flax industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(5) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the carpet industry industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(6) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the man-made fibres industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(7) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the printing and publishing industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(8) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the iron and steel industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(9) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the knitting, lace and net industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(10) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the furniture and timber industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(11) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the hotel and catering industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(12) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the food, drink and tobacco industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(13) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the distributive industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(14) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the cotton and allied textiles industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(15) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the chemical and allied products industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(16) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the clothing and allied products industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;

(17) if he will detail the training arrangements which replaced the ceramics, glass and mineral products industrial training board and make a statement concerning progress towards the objectives of the new training initiative in that sector;
