HC Deb 17 December 1984 vol 70 cc53-4W
Mr. Heddle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why Mrs. Anne Wood of 37 Netheridge avenue, Lichfield, Staffordshire, has not received the child benefit due to her since 20 June; why the child benefit office in Washington new town has disregarded her written instruction to pay the sum due to her into either her bank or building society accounts; and if he will ensure that this matter is resolved before Christmas.

Mr. Whitney

I regret that some confusion, resulting in part from industrial action, led to Mrs. Wood's child benefit claim being delayed. The problems have been resolved and she should receive her arrears within a few days.
